Usage Note

Atlantico as an adjective describes anything pertaining to the Atlantic Ocean or the broader transatlantic geopolitical sphere (alleanza atlantica = Atlantic alliance, i.e. NATO). As a noun l'Atlantico (masculine) names the ocean itself. In Italian, adjectives derived from proper nouns are written in lowercase unless they form part of an official name.
