Usage Note
Caduto is the past participle of cadere (to fall), used as an adjective ('fallen') or as a noun meaning a soldier killed in action — i caduti della Prima Guerra Mondiale (the fallen of World War One). In this memorial sense it is almost always plural and masculine. As an adjective it agrees normally: caduta, caduti, cadute.
