cerebrale

cerebral

adjective cheh-reh-BRAH-leh Rare

Origin: From Latin 'cerebralis', from 'cerebrum' (brain).

Also means

brain-related

Usage Note

Cerebrale is used both in medical contexts (emorragia cerebrale — cerebral haemorrhage) and figuratively to describe something highly intellectual or overly analytical (un film cerebrale). It does not change form between masculine and feminine (un uomo cerebrale / una donna cerebrale) since it ends in -e. The noun is cervello (m), the more common word for 'brain.'

Examples

"Ha subito un danno cerebrale grave."

Natural Translation

He suffered serious brain damage.
