Cittadino is both a noun (citizen, resident) and an adjective (civic): diritti del cittadino (citizens' rights), senso civico is more common for 'civic sense.' The feminine is cittadina. Cittadinanza is citizenship. Do not confuse with città (city) — cittadino means a person of the city or a national citizen.
