Correggere is an irregular second-conjugation verb; past participle corretto, past historic corressi. It takes avere as auxiliary: ho corretto (I corrected). It is used for correcting written work, errors, and also for 'spiking' a drink — caffè corretto is an espresso with a shot of grappa or other spirit added, a very common Italian bar order.
