discreet

adjective dees-KREH-toh Rare

Also means

fairly good

Usage Note

Discreto has two main senses that learners must distinguish. It can mean 'discreet' or 'reserved' in behaviour, but very commonly it means 'quite good' or 'decent' as a mild positive evaluation: un discreto ristorante means a decent restaurant. English speakers should note that 'discrete' (separate, distinct) is distinto or separato in Italian.
