donnina

little woman

noun don-NEE-nah Rare

Origin: Diminutive of donna (woman), from Latin domina (mistress).

Also means

easy woman (colloquial)

Usage Note

Donnina is the diminutive of donna; literally a small or petite woman, but in colloquial use donnina di facili costumi (a woman of easy virtue) is a common euphemism. Context determines the register sharply. Used affectionately it can simply describe a little girl acting grown-up. The plural is donnine.
