Emozione refers to a felt emotional response — stronger and more momentary than sentimento (feeling, sentiment), which implies a more lasting state. The verb emozionarsi (reflexive) means 'to be moved/to get emotional'. In informal speech, che emozione! ('how exciting!/what a thrill!') is a very common exclamation. Plural: emozioni.
