Esplicito means stated clearly and directly, leaving nothing implied (istruzioni esplicite — explicit instructions). It agrees in gender and number: esplicito, esplicita, espliciti, esplicite. The adverb is esplicitamente. It is a formal register word; in everyday speech chiaro (clear) is more common. The opposite is implicito (implicit).
