Evoluto as an adjective describes someone or something that is advanced, sophisticated, or highly developed — una società evoluta (an advanced society), una persona evoluta (a broad-minded, cultured person). It can also be a pure past participle of evolversi ('to evolve'). Applied to people it is complimentary but can carry a slightly paternalistic undertone in socio-political contexts.
