Usage Note

Fioco describes a weak, faint light or a hoarse, feeble voice: luce fioca (dim light), voce fioca (hoarse/faint voice). The feminine is fioca, plural fiochi/fioche. It is a literary and somewhat elevated term; in everyday speech debole (weak) or fiacco (faint) may be more common. Note the 'ch' spelling in the plural (fiochi) to preserve the hard 'k' sound.
