enlightening
Usage Note
Illuminante is the present participle of illuminare used as an adjective, meaning something that sheds new light on a topic. It is invariable for gender: un libro illuminante, una risposta illuminante. Do not confuse with illuminato (illuminated, enlightened — as in il Settecento illuminato, the Enlightenment era).
