Usage Note
Imbarcare means to board or load onto a ship, plane, or vehicle. The reflexive imbarcarsi ('to embark') is extremely common: ci siamo imbarcati alle otto ('we boarded at eight'). Figuratively, imbarcarsi in qualcosa means 'to get oneself into something' (an undertaking or trouble). Takes essere in the reflexive, avere when transitive.
