noun eem-BAR-koh Rare

Usage Note

Imbarco is used in airports (gate d'imbarco = boarding gate, carta d'imbarco = boarding pass) and seaports (zona d'imbarco = embarkation area). The opposite is sbarco (disembarkation). Do not confuse with imbarazzo (embarrassment), which is spelled differently.
