Usage Note

Immune is used both in the medical sense (sistema immunitario, immune system; essere immune da una malattia) and figuratively (immune dalle critiche, immune to criticism). It does not change for gender: un soggetto immune, una persona immune; the plural is immuni. Do not confuse with immunizzato (immunized, having received a vaccine).
