to obsess over
Usage Note
Impallinare literally means to hit someone with pellets (pallini) from a shotgun, but colloquially it means to pester or fixate on something: mi ha impallinato con le sue domande ('he pestered me endlessly with his questions'). The colloquial sense is very common in spoken Italian. It conjugates regularly as a first-conjugation (-are) verb.
Examples
"Il cacciatore ha impallinato la lepre."
Natural Translation
The hunter riddled the hare with shot.
