infervorare

to enthuse

verb een-fer-voh-RAH-reh Rare

Origin: From Italian in- + fervore (fervour), from Latin fervor (heat, ardour).

Also means

to fire up

Usage Note

Infervorare means to fill someone with enthusiasm or passion; the reflexive infervorarsi means to become fired up or excited: si è infervorato parlando del progetto (he got fired up talking about the project). It takes avere in the non-reflexive form and essere reflexively. It is more literary or emphatic than the common entusiasmare.

Examples

"Il discorso ha infervorato tutta la folla."

Natural Translation

The speech fired up the entire crowd.
