Also means
an infinite number (of)
Usage Note
Infinità is invariable in the plural (like all nouns ending in stressed -à): le infinità looks identical to the singular but is rarely used, as the concept of multiple infinities appears mainly in mathematics. More commonly it appears in the expression un'infinità di ('an infinite number of'), followed by a plural noun: un'infinità di problemi ('no end of problems').
Examples
"C'è un'infinità di stelle nell'universo."
Natural Translation
There are an infinite number of stars in the universe.
Literal Translation
There-is an-infinity of stars in-the universe.
