Usage Note

Insediare means to formally install someone in a position or to establish a settlement. Insediare un governo means to swear in a government; insediarsi (reflexive) means to take up one's post or to settle in a place. In the reflexive form it takes essere as auxiliary. The noun form insediamento means both 'inauguration' and 'settlement' (e.g. a prehistoric settlement).
