Usage Note
Insegnato is the past participle of insegnare (to teach), used either as a verb in compound tenses ('ho insegnato' = I have taught) or as an adjective meaning 'taught' or 'well-instructed'. As an adjective it agrees in gender and number: insegnata, insegnati, insegnate. Do not confuse with istruito (educated in a broader sense).
