Usage Note
Interventista means favouring direct intervention, especially by the state in the economy or by a country in foreign conflicts. It is one of Italian's -ista adjectives, which are invariable for gender in the singular (un politico interventista, una politica interventista) but take -i (m) or -e (f) in the plural.

"Il governo ha adottato una politica interventista."
Natural Translation
The government adopted an interventionist policy.
