Usage Note
Intolleranza covers both social intolerance (intolleranza razziale, racial intolerance) and physical intolerance (intolleranza al lattosio, lactose intolerance). Note the double 'l'. The adjective is intollerante. It is not a false friend — it maps closely to English 'intolerance'.
