Usage Note
Istigazione is a legal and formal term for inciting someone to commit a crime or wrongful act; istigazione al suicidio (incitement to suicide) is a criminal offence under Italian law. The verb form is istigare (to instigate, to incite). In everyday speech istigare can be used more loosely, but istigazione remains largely formal or judicial.
