Letterariamente is used in critical and academic prose to frame a judgment or description in terms of literary quality or convention: letterariamente parlando ('literarily speaking'). It is rarely used in casual speech; dal punto di vista letterario is a common paraphrase. It should not be confused with letteralmente ('literally').
