liberatorio
liberating; releasing (legal)
Origin: From Latin 'liberatorius', from 'liberare' (to free)
Usage Note
Liberatorio is principally a legal and financial adjective — pagamento liberatorio ('payment that extinguishes a debt / discharge of obligation') and quietanza liberatoria ('full and final discharge receipt') are the standard fixed phrases. Outside these legal contexts it is rare; in everyday speech, liberante or che libera would be used. The feminine is liberatoria, which is also used as a noun meaning a formal release or waiver document.
Examples
"Il pagamento ha effetto liberatorio nei confronti del creditore."
Natural Translation
