lo

it

pronoun LOH Common

Origin: from Latin illum

Also means

him

Usage Note

Lo is the masculine singular direct-object pronoun ('him/it') and also a neuter 'it' standing for a whole idea (lo so = 'I know it'). It elides to l' before a vowel. Do not confuse it with the article lo used before s+consonant.
