Usage Note
Microimpresa is defined in EU law as a business with fewer than 10 employees and an annual turnover not exceeding €2 million. Italian legislation and EU directives distinguish microimpresa, piccola impresa, and media impresa (micro, small, and medium enterprise — together abbreviated PMI, equivalent to SME). The feminine gender follows impresa.
