Usage Note
Morire is irregular and always takes essere as its auxiliary: 'è morto' (he died), NOT 'ha morto.' The past participle is morto/morta. Italians use it hyperbolically in everyday speech: muoio di fame (I'm starving, lit. 'I'm dying of hunger'), morivo di noia (I was dying of boredom).
Examples
"Muoio di fame, quando mangiamo?"
Natural Translation
I'm starving, when do we eat?
Literal Translation
I-die of hunger, when do-we-eat?
