Usage Note

Nuvola is the everyday word for cloud; the more technical/poetic form is nube. The plural nuvole is regular. Italian uses essere tra le nuvole (to be among the clouds) to mean 'to have one's head in the clouds', equivalent to the English expression. Nuvoloso means cloudy.
