Pacifismo is the political and philosophical doctrine opposing war and violence. The adherent is un pacifista / una pacifista (invariable in the singular). It contrasts with militarismo. The adjective pacifista doubles as a noun, while pacifico means peaceful or pacific (the ocean is il Pacifico).
