Usage Note
Palpabile is invariable for gender (un disagio palpabile / una tensione palpabile), changing only in the plural (palpabili). In Italian it is used both literally (able to be felt by touch) and figuratively (clearly perceptible), much as English 'palpable' is. The related verb is palpare ('to feel, to palpate').
Examples
"C'era una tensione palpabile nella stanza."
Natural Translation
There was a palpable tension in the room.
