Pazzesco derives from pazzo (mad, crazy) and intensifies it. In colloquial speech it often expresses amazement rather than literal madness: una serata pazzesca (a crazy/incredible evening). The feminine is pazzesca; the plural forms are pazzi / pazzesche. A near-synonym in informal speech is assurdo.
