Usage Note
Pensato is the past participle of pensare used attributively. It implies deliberate planning: ben pensato (well thought out) is a common collocation. As an adjective it agrees in gender and number: pensata, pensati, pensate. Unlike progettato (designed/engineered), pensato focuses on the conceptual or intentional quality of something.
Examples
"È un prodotto ben pensato per i bambini."
Natural Translation
It is a well thought-out product for children.
