Plasma is an invariable masculine noun in Italian (il plasma, i plasma). It has several senses: the fourth state of matter (physics), blood plasma (medicine), and colloquially a plasma TV screen (schermo al plasma). Context determines the sense. In medicine, plasma sanguigno (blood plasma) is the most common use in everyday speech.
