Usage Note

Pluralismo is used in political and cultural discourse to mean the coexistence of multiple parties, viewpoints, or values. In Italian media it often appears as pluralismo dell'informazione, referring to media plurality. It does not mean simply 'more than one thing' the way the English word sometimes loosely does.
