Origin: From presidente + suffix -ale, modeled on Latin praesidentialis.
Usage Note
Presidenziale is invariable for gender (same form for masculine and feminine), with plural presidenziali. It describes things belonging to or fitting a president: palazzo presidenziale (presidential palace), elezioni presidenziali (presidential elections). In Italy, the Repubblica Italiana has a largely ceremonial president, so the term also applies to the Quirinale.
