Usage Note

Proporre is an irregular verb (past participle proposto, past historic proposi) belonging to the same family as comporre, supporre, all built on porre. It takes avere as auxiliary. The reflexive proporsi means 'to set oneself a goal' or 'to intend to do something' (mi sono proposto di studiare = I set myself the goal of studying).
