relazione

relationship

noun reh-lah-TSYOH-neh Common

Origin: Latin relatio (a bringing back, account)

Also means

report

Usage Note

Relazione covers both personal relationships (essere in relazione con qualcuno) and formal written reports (presentare una relazione). The plural relazioni is regular. Relazioni pubbliche means 'public relations'. Do not confuse it with rapporto, which overlaps heavily but leans more toward ratios and numerical reports.

Examples

"Ho una buona relazione con i miei colleghi."

Natural Translation

I have a good relationship with my colleagues.
