Usage Note

Retribuito means compensated with a wage or salary — lavoro retribuito ('paid work') as opposed to lavoro volontario ('volunteer work'). It is the past participle of retribuire ('to remunerate') used adjectivally, so gender agreement applies: retribuita, retribuiti, retribuite.
