Usage Note
Ripetizione covers both the abstract sense of repetition and, very commonly in Italian education, a private tutoring session: dare ripetizioni means 'to give private lessons.' A student who attends extra coaching is said to fare ripetizioni. This second sense has no direct English cognate.
