Usage Note

Riquadrare in photography and cinematography means to recompose or reframe a shot. In architecture and carpentry it means to true up or square off a surface. The noun form is riquadratura (the act of reframing/squaring). The prefix ri- (again/re-) combines with quadrare (to square).
