Usage Note

Risentire has two main uses: 'to hear/feel again' (Ho risentito la canzone — I heard the song again) and, reflexively, risentirsi, 'to take offence' or 'to feel the effects of' (Si è risentito per quella battuta — He took offence at that joke). It takes avere as its auxiliary in compound tenses.
