Rivalutare combines ri- (again) with valutare (to evaluate), so it literally means 'to evaluate again'. In finance it refers to revaluing a currency or asset upward; in everyday use it means to revise one's opinion of something positively, e.g. ho rivalutato quel film ('I've come to appreciate that film more'). Takes avere as its auxiliary.
