Usage Note
Scioperare means to participate in a strike (sciopero). It is a regular first-conjugation verb. The related noun sciopero (strike) is masculine. Note: sc before o is pronounced 'sk', but in scioperare the sc precedes io — the 'i' is a glide making the 'sc' soft, pronounced 'sh': shoh-peh-RAH-reh.
