Usage Note
Scoop is an invariable English loanword used in Italian journalism to mean an exclusive story that beats the competition. Gender is masculine (lo scoop, with lo because it begins with 'sc'). The plural is unchanged: gli scoop. The native Italian alternative esclusiva exists but scoop is more vivid and universally understood in newsrooms.
Examples
"Il giornalista ha pubblicato uno scoop clamoroso."
Natural Translation
The journalist published a sensational scoop.
