Usage Note

Secolo means a century, with the plural secoli. The casual exaggeration non ti vedo da secoli means 'I haven't seen you in ages'. Centuries are named with the Roman numeral plus -esimo, or by their hundreds, as in il Cinquecento for the 1500s.
