Also means
lack of confidence
Usage Note
Sfiducia literally means 'lack of trust' (fiducia = trust, with the privative prefix s-). In Italian parliamentary procedure, mozione di sfiducia is a formal vote of no-confidence against the government — a term learners encounter frequently in political news. The opposite is fiducia, and both are used with the preposition in (sfiducia nel governo).
Examples
"La sfiducia nei politici è diffusa."
