Also means
quiet
Usage Note
Silenzioso describes both a person who does not speak much and a place or object that makes little noise. It is not a false friend of English 'silencer' (silenziatore). The adverb is silenziosamente. A common phrase is stai silenzioso! ('be quiet!'), though stai zitto! is more blunt.
Examples
"La biblioteca è un posto silenzioso."
Natural Translation
The library is a quiet place.
