Sottoposto as a noun means a person who is hierarchically below another, i.e. a subordinate or direct report. It can also be used as an adjective meaning 'subjected to' or 'placed under' (sottoposto a pressione = subjected to pressure). The feminine form is sottoposta; the plural follows regular -o/-i, -a/-e patterns.
