Usage Note

Ten in Italian contexts is an anglicism used in sports scoring — particularly in tennis and figure skating — where the English numeral is borrowed directly. It is not the standard Italian word for ten, which is dieci. When encountered it is typically in a sporting or pop-culture context.

Examples

"Ha ricevuto un ten perfetto dai giudici."

Natural Translation

She received a perfect ten from the judges.
